Description

Emergency First Aid CPR Level C Blended Learning Course is both online training and in-class skills checks.  Emergency First Aid Level C Blended Learning Course offers life-saving first aid and CPR skills for adults, children, and babies in the workplace or home. This course is WSIB Ontario Program approved and ideal for any tradesperson, any Driver (Transport, Taxi, School Bus, Etc), security guards and those who need basic first aid skills for adults, children and babies.

APRIL 2021 UPDATE: In keeping with the safety protocols within Ontario, First Aid CPR is classified as an ESSENTIAL SERVICE and we continue to provide courses under the required Provincial Regulations. 

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, WSIB has granted First Aid Providers in Ontario to provide a temporary certification option through blended and online training. Furthermore, WSIB has granted an extension to any previously existing certification that would have expired after March 1st, 2020. This extension ends on December 31st, 2021.* PLEASE NOTE that As of April 1st, 2021 ANY EXPIRED RED CROSS CERTIFICATE WILL REQUIRE A NEW CERTIFICATION.  

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Traditionally we have provided both on-site training and public courses. Due to COVID-19, we are unable to provide public courses at this time. Once we are able to resume our public courses, you will be notified with flexible scheduling options. In the meantime, online and Blended Learning courses are always available. 

 

This temporary certification option WILL EXPIRE on December 31st, 2021 if the in-class portion of the training is not completed. Participants can complete their online training and attend ANY RED CROSS TRAINING PROVIDER of their choosing.

 

This Emergency First Aid Level C Blended Learning course offers basic life-saving first aid and CPR skills for adults in the workplace or home. This online course is developed by the Red Cross and meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and resuscitation (CPR) guidelines.

 

Emergency First Aid CPR Level C Blended Learning is a one-day, basic first aid course that is now divided into two parts.  Participants can complete part of the course online and finish the remaining in-class portion of the course with ANY Red Cross Training Partner.  The in-class portion MUST be completed prior to December 31, 2021 in order to obtain a FULL certification.

  • Preparing to respond
  • Check Call Care
  • Airway emergencies for adults, children, and babies
  • Breathing Emergencies
  • Circulation Emergencies & Deadly Bleeding
  • First aid with CPR/AED training for respiratory and cardiac arrest for adults, children, and babies
  • Wound care
  • Includes any other content required by specific legislation

COURSE COMPLETION

  • 100% completion of the 3-hour-online component prior to the in-class session
  • 100% attendance in this 4-hour in-class course prior to December 31st, 2021
  • Participants must be able to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps
  • A minimum of 75% must be achieved on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation
  • Participants must adhere to the Red Cross Fundamental Principles while in the course

  • Emergency First Aid Level C Blended Learning Certificate (expires Dec 31, 2021)
