The Emergency First Aid CPR Level A course is developed by the Red Cross and meets WSIB guidelines and legislation requirements.   This course is ideal for any tradesperson, any driver (Transport, Taxi, School Bus, Etc), security guards and those who need basic first aid skills for work or personal interest.

 

Emergency First Aid CPR Level A is a one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and CPR skills for adults. This course is developed by the Red Cross and meets WSIB guidelines and legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards.
This course is ideal and in some cases mandatory for any tradesperson, any driver (Transport, Taxi, School Bus, Etc), security guards and those who need basic first aid skills for adults for the workplace or for personal interest.

 

Course Content

  • The Red Cross
  • Preparing to respond
  • Check, Call, Care
  • Airway emergencies – adults
  • Breathing Emergencies
  • Circulation Emergencies & Deadly Bleeding
  • First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest – adults
  • Wound care
  • Includes any other content required by specific legislation

Successful Completion

  • 100% attendance in this 6.5 to 8-hour course and full participation is mandatory
  • Participants must be able to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps
  • Participants must achieve a minimum of 75%  on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation
  • Participants must adhere to the Red Cross Fundamental Principles while attending a course
